Dinah graduated from the City University, London in 1997 with a BSc (Hons) in Clinical Communication Studies. Dinah has over 10 years’ experience in a range of clinical settings both in the N.H.S. and the H.S.E. Dinah has worked extensively with children and young adults with a wide variety of speech, language and communication difficulties.

Dinah has a particular interest in working with children and young adults with a diagnosis of Autism. In the UK, Dinah worked as part of a multi-disciplinary team which included speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational staff, social workers and psychologists. This team was based in a community residential special school and Children’s Home catering for 180 pupils from age 4-19 with a diagnosis of ASD. This team worked collaboratively supported by the SCERTS model (Social Communication, Emotional Regulation and Transactional Support SCERTS provided a framework for the extensive range of therapy approaches used across the school. When working in this team Dinah gained experience in delivering interventions including Lego Therapy, Intensive Interaction, Attention Autism, Talkabout, Socially Speaking, PECS, low and high tech AAC systems, Sensory Integration Therapy in addition to a range of social and emotional regulation supports.

Dinah has experience in delivering parent training and training to educational staff. Dinah is skilled at supporting school staff and families to implement approaches to develop a child’s social communication and emotional regulation. In particular Dinah has experience in using programmes such as Zones of Regulation to help children gain skills in consciously regulating their actions, which in turn leads to increased control and problem-solving abilities. Dinah understands how to use sensory strategies to support children’s engagement in activities.

Dinah is dedicated to providing each one of her clients with individualised, client-centred therapy.

Dinah has completed regular learning and training events to maintain high standards and is trained in the following:
