Kerrie graduated in 2005 with first class honours degree in Speech & Language Therapy with Merit in clinical practice. Kerrie gained valuable & extensive experience from her current position in the Beacon Hospital and previous positions in the National Rehabilitation Hospital with acquired brain injury & in Tallaght Hospital in areas of Stroke, Neurology, Dementia, Age-related healthcare, Oncology & Respiratory services.
Kerrie has led the Speech & Language Therapy Service in Beacon Hospital since 2010, specialising in the following areas:
- Adult speech impairments (dysarthria)
- Language impairment (aphasia)
- Adult swallowing disorders
- Videofluoroscopy (swallow x-ray)
- Voice difficulties (trained in Laryngeal Manual Therapy and Lee Silverman Voice Therapy)
Kerrie provides videofluoroscopy clinics three times per week in Beacon Hospital which allow swallowing problems to be studied in detail on a continuous moving x-ray
