About my practice
BSc (Hons) Speech & Language Therapy 2011 University College Cork

I am an experienced pediatric Speech & Language Therapist based in Cork. I am passionate about working with children with autism, physical disability and learning needs.

I have worked both in Ireland and Dubai in multi-disciplinary team environments. I gained vast experience working with children 6 months to 18 years with a variety of communication needs including those associated with Autism, Down Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy.

I have a special interest in working with non-verbal or minimally verbal children. I am interested in using Alternative & Augmentative Communication (AAC) to support language development.

I am committed to continuous professional development and I have completed training in

  • Hanen ‘It Takes Two to Talk’.
  • Lámh Sign System,
  • AAC
  • Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECS)
  • Social Thinking by Michelle Garcia Winner
  • Diagnostic Interview for Social Communication Disorders

I am dedicated to creating a strong therapeutic relationship with the child by tailoring sessions to incorporate the child’s interests and learning style. I believe in the importance of working collaboratively with key people in the child’s life. I completed a MSc in Personal & Management Coaching in 2016 to support my ability to encourage and empower families.

I graduated from University College Cork (UCC) in 2011 with a BSc (Hons) in Speech & Language Therapy. I returned to UCC in 2017 to lecture and support the clinical skill development of student Speech & Language Therapists.

I am a full member of the Irish Association of Speech & Language Therapists (IASLT) and CORU registered (Government Health Regulatory Body for Healthcare Professionals).
