Senior Speech and Language Therapist in Lucan Co Dublin– Referrals paused from June 2026 until further notice

A little about me:
Graduating in 2000, I am a Senior Speech and Language Therapist with many years of experience working with children and their families. As a therapist I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including HSE clinics, preschools, schools and with families in their homes. I have extensive clinical experience supporting children and young people with speech, language, and communication delay, differences & difficulties.
In addition, I provide Clinical Supervision and support to other Speech and Language Therapists, and have gained additional experience training other professionals and therapists across Ireland in Professional Supervision with the HSE from 2018-202. I’ve lectured on the area of Speech and Language Development to students in Dundalk IT. I am committed to maintaining ongoing professional development to ensure the highest standards of evidence-based practice, incorporating the most up-to-date therapy principles and programmes.
I’m registered with CORU, insured, and am a Member of the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists. I’m currently working part time to balance work with family life.

Referrals:
I welcome new referrals from parents and caregivers who are interested in assessment and/or therapy for their child or young person.
Appointments can take place at a flexible therapy space at my home in Lucan, or in your home – I can offer home visits within a 20-minute drive/ areas surrounding Lucan.

Waiting list: Please note, I operate a waiting list based on time since referral. Once I agree to take your child on to my list, the waiting time starts. Due to the varying amount of appointments needed for each child & due to my working part time, this list can extend up to 6 months.

Assessment:
I believe in the importance of meeting the child ‘where they are at’ and I value measuring the child’s progress against evidenced based developmental communication milestones and recognising progress in their own journey so far.

Other Needs: Working without a multi disciplinary team, it is often the case when I support parents in making referrals to other professionals (Occupational Therapy, Psychology, SLT for specialist assessment) should the need arise either at assessment stage or during therapy.

Therapy: Ultimately my aim is for each child I work with to progress in their ability communicate and be empowered to grow in confidence to advocate for themselves. My approach to this is collaborative—appointments combine direct work with your child and discussion with you. I work closely with parents& caregivers, to insure I can introduce the most effective strategies and interventions for each child’s communication needs. I believe it’s important to share the know-how with parents/ caregivers and where possible for you to get hands on and join in with therapy activities. In reality, time spent with the therapist is a fraction of your child’s overall week so my aim is to empower you with the additional knowledge to support & advocate for your child, and the confidence in a hands on way, in how you can make a real difference between therapy appointments.
