About
Bright Clouds SLT is a specialist speech and language therapy practice founded by Martina Dwyer, a CORU registered SLT with 12 years of clinical experience. Having worked across private practice, universities, schools, charities and the HSE in both disability and primary care services, I now specialise exclusively in the areas I am most passionate about and have the most training in.
Two of my immediate family members have attended SLT. Alongside my clinical experience, I bring a unique and personal understanding of what it means to live with communication difficulties, and what it means for families and communities to provide support.
The social model of disability and neuroaffirmative therapy is central to the Bright Clouds SLT ethos. Communication difficulties are not solely located within the individual, we can all challenge the societal barriers that make communication harder.

Specialisms

Complex Speech Sound Intervention
Including speech sound delays and disorders, motor speech delays and Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS). I hold specialist training in motor speech assessment and intervention, and neurodiversity affirming practice.

Stammer Affirming Therapy
Working from a stammer affirming philosophy across all ages; supporting children, teenagers and adults to communicate with confidence on their own terms

Outdoor Speech and Language Therapy
Ireland’s first SLT specialising in outdoor speech and language therapy, particularly suitable for children with complex language profiles, including Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and Gestalt Language Processors.

Developmental Language Disorder

Working from a neuroaffirmative and practical philosophy across all ages; supporting children, teenagers and adults to communicate with confidence on their own terms

Ages: Therapy is provided across the lifespan for these specialisms only. Please note I do not provide therapy in the following areas: adult neurology, adult intellectual disability, dysphagia (swallowing difficulties), situational mutism.

How My Practice Works

In Person Clinic – Carrigaline, Cork – Taking enquiries for September 2026 onwards for weekly supports.

In Person Clinic – Portlaoise

An in person satellite clinic setting is available in Portlaoise, once monthly, particularly suitable for older children and adults who can travel and for clients who are comfortable in a small consultation room environment.

Online – Nationwide
Online therapy is available nationwide. Research consistently supports the effectiveness of teletherapy for SLT. For younger children, teletherapy can be supportive with parent coaching and innovative ways to engage a young child’s attention. Many older children and teenagers engage enthusiastically with digital resources, and adults appreciate the flexibility and discretion of online sessions.

School Based Support
School based SLT support is available either onsite or online. Training packages for teachers available on request.

Outdoor Support

Coming soon in Autumn/Winter 2026.

Fees At a Glance (full fee schedule can be provided on request)
Therapy sessions: €90-110
Assessment sessions: €150-160 per session (typically 2-3 sessions)
Full formal language assessment: €400

All sessions are prepaid. Payment plans are available for blocks of therapy and intensives.
